Houston’s New Hip Hop Generation On The Rise


Houston’s music scene in 2015 has unleashed new forces in the industry.  A unity between all artists is stronger than ever in clutch city. OG’s like DJ Screw ,Slim Thug, Bun B, Phat Pat, Lil Flip, Pimp C , Lil Keke and others  have all paved the way for the new hip hop generation  of Houston.  This new generation is creating a profound impact in the industry.  Artist like Kirko Bangz, Ken Randle, Leelonn, Propain, and Boston George have gained the attention of listeners around the nation.  These artists are adamant about sharing the spotlight with underground artist and musicians of Houston.

This year we have seen Kirko Bangz reach out to upcoming artist out of H-Town.  Chedda Da Connect being one of the artist has formed part of the LMG family and E-1 music.  Climbing the charts and breaking the internet with his Fred on Em produced  hit  record “ Flicka Da Wrist” off his Catching playz 2 mixtape.  He recently just dropped his new mixtape “Chedda World” a 13 track mixtape with production work by Albie Dickson, XO on The Beat, Nard & B, Fred On Em, Zaytoven, Lynton Scott, Big Ant, and Will A Fool.

As Kirko Bangz’s official DJ – XO on The Beat has made a name for himself with his “Fell in Love” track featuring Gudda Gudda, Sancho Saucy, Marcus Manchild, and Chedda Da Connect.  Shortly after the success of “Fell in love” XO has maintained his name dropping tracks such as “Lingo” and a collaboration with Short Dawg and 2 Chainz titled “ Natural” which has obtained radio play on over 20 cities.

Showing their worth as self-sufficient musicians and the go-to producers of Houston, Albie Dickson, Trakksounds, Xo On The Beat, Amir Shayegan, Official Watson, and June James  have acquired respect this 2015.  Being supportive of each other, working as a team and not letting their egos or greed intervene these producers have achieved placements with well known artists  in the industry.

Albie Dickson has been producing for a over decade his passion and dedication to make it in the industry have granted him the opportunity to work with the likes of Manny Fresh, Kirko Bangz, Kevin Gatez, Chamillionaire, Starlito, Young Dolph, Devin The Dude, Nipsey Hussle, Killa Kyleon, Greg Hardy, HTown, and Migos. Forming his own music group IMG (Intervals Music Group) with Eric William, Albie introduced guitarist/producer Amir Shayegan to the game and has helped expand Amir’s career landing him placements with Grammy  nominated producer Jerrin Howard, Chris Landry, Young Dro, XO, June James, Official Watson, Kirko Bangz, Chedda Da Connect, Gudda Gudda, Sancho Saucy, Marcus Manchild. Killa Kyleon and Stunna Bam .

With a culminating year up ahead of these artist and musicians Houston’s new hip hop generation will continue to pave and expand the way for other upcoming artist.

Bun B Performs With The Houston Symphony In Concert Against Hate


Bun B joined the Houston Symphony in concert against hate on November 14th. The Symphony celebrated local civil rights heroes and was emceed by Emmy award winning actress Alfre Woodard. The Houston Symphony along with Lamar high school choir and Bun B performed a special rendition of the Black Eyed Peas song “Where Is The Love?”

Beyonce Performs Bow Down in Houston Tx.


Beyonce performs for the first time at the Mrs.Carter World TourBow Down” in her hometown Houston,Tx. It was just the right thing to do. Not only did Beyonce suprise her fans with that special performance she also commemorated the Trill OG’s of Houston Bun B, Slim Thug, Lil Keke, Scarface,Willie D, Z Ro giving them bottles of Ace of Spades and D’Usse cognac as a gift to each.

J.Cole stopped in Houston,Tx June 24,2013 for his Sold out Dollar and a Dream tour at The House of Blues. During the Show J.Cole showed H.Town some love and brought out special guest Kendrick Lamar and hometown heroes Bun B, Slim Thug, Trae tha Truth, and Kirko Bangz.

Beyonce – Bow Down Remix


Beyonce Keeps it H.Town

Dallas, TX March 24, 2013 – Rumors have been flying all over the web for the past couple of days, according to Houston Fox 26 reporter, Isiah Carey, Beyonce has started to recruit some of Houston’s legendary rappers to be featured on her “Bow Down” Remix. It has been said that Slim Thug, Bun B, Kirko Bangz,Willie D, Lil Keke and Scarface will all be a part of the infamous remix. King Bey has yet to confirm the rumors, so as for now we just have to wait and see who will jump on this remix.

UPDATE : March 29, 2013  – Finally, the remix we’ve all been waiting for made its debut today on Houston’s 97.9 The Boxx. Featuring Houston’s Legends Bun B, Slim Thug, Scarface, Willie D, Z-Ro & Lil Keke.
